Gita Sjahrir is currently the Managing Director for Investor Relations at TBS, having taken office at a pivotal moment as the company advances its transition toward carbon neutrality by 2030. Prior to TBS, she was Head of Investments for BNI Ventures, leading the development of one of Indonesia’s largest state owned banks’ venture capital arm. She was also Special Advisor to the Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs, as part of the negotiations team for Indonesia’s carbon market policy development and the US$20 billion Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
Currently, she is also an independent Investment Committee member of Australia Development Investment, a AUD$ 250 million fund-of-funds investing into impact aligned investment in Southeast Asia. Additionally, she is a board member of several publicly listed companies in Indonesia, addressing gender hiring gap and climate investment issues in the region.
She holds degrees from the University of Chicago (BA 2004), The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (MBA 2010), and an MPA candidate at the University of North Carolina Chapel-Hill, and is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 27).
With her extensive experiences, she brings a perspective that blends policy, investment, and market insight to help strengthen investor confidence in TBS’ long-term direction.
