Pioneering Indonesia’s EV ecosystem

In 2021, TBS and GoTo Group established PT Energi Kreasi Bersama, known as Electrum, to develop Indonesia’s integrated electric mobility ecosystem. Covering vehicle assembly, battery technology, swapping infrastructure, charging stations, and financing, Electrum plays a central role in strengthening the national EV value chain.

Electrum has marked several milestones in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition. In February 2022, President Joko Widodo officiated the launch of a collaborative EV ecosystem with Electrum, Pertamina, Gogoro, and Gesits. Later that year, Electrum showcased its commitment at the G20 Summit and B20 Forum in Bali, providing 50 e-motorcycles, 11 shelters, and 150 Gojek driver-partners to serve delegates.

Its progress is also reflected in financing support. In December 2024, Electrum secured a US$15 million package from the Asian Development Bank, the Australian Climate Finance Partnership, and Bank DBS Indonesia, enabling vehicle procurement and battery-swapping expansion with a projected reduction of 123,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.

Electrum continues to scale its infrastructure and products. By October 2024, it launched the H3i e-motorcycle at IMOS, offering flexible home charging or access to its expanding swapping network. In 2025, Electrum also launched its newest model, Electrum H1, to provide more variety for customers. Today, with more than 370 Battery Swapping Stations supporting 5,800+ e-motorcycles in Jakarta, Electrum demonstrates TBS’s long-term commitment to sustainable urban mobility in Indonesia.
